Her clinical expertise includes the diagnosis and treatment of age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal vascular disease, retinal tears and detachments, macular holes, epiretinal membranes, and intraocular tumors, including uveal melanoma, metastases, and intraocular lymphoma.

Dr. Abraham completed her ophthalmology residency at the Central University of Venezuela, graduating with honors and was elected as Chief Resident. She has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications and has presented her work at national and international meetings. She also holds an MBA in Public Health and Hospital Management and has held leadership and academic roles including serving as an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology, reflecting her ongoing commitment to clinical excellence, education, and innovation.

Dr. Abraham delivers a deeply personalized patient experience. She believes that exceptional outcomes begin with thoughtful listening, clear communication, and specialized treatment strategies. She understands that retinal conditions can be complex and overwhelming and is dedicated to ensuring that each patient feels informed, supported, and confident throughout their care.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Abraham founded the Vision and Hope initiative in Venezuela, a pro bono program that provides free screening, education, and early intervention for premature babies. Through this initiative, she has trained healthcare professionals and families ensuring access to care for the most vulnerable patients. The program continues to operate under her leadership.

Fluent in English and Spanish, Dr. Abraham cares for a diverse patient population with warmth and cultural sensitivity. Outside the office, she enjoys spending time with her family and her Old English Sheep Dog, she is also passionate about animal welfare and cofounded a charitable initiative in Venezuela dedicated to finding loving homes for stray dogs and cats reflecting her compassionate approach both within and beyond medicine.

Dr. Maura Abraham is an experienced ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained retina specialist with advanced expertise in the medical and surgical management of vitreoretinal diseases and ocular oncology. She completed two prestigious fellowships at the renowned Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami, consistently ranked among the top ophthalmology programs in the United States, training first in Medical Retina and then in a competitive Ocular Oncology fellowship, she also completed prior subspecialty training in Vitreoretinal Surgery, and Ocular Ultrasound gaining extensive experience managing complex, vision-threatening conditions.
